SCHOOL YEAR 2026 - 2027
The AHS Foundation Mission

The AHS Foundation seeks to create a collegial & career rich environment by impacting and enhancing each primary facet of school life.  This not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 fundraising body seeks to proactively make each student’s and educator's experience with our school engaging, relevant, empowering, challenging and, ultimately, life-changing. 

The Foundation’s focus is four-fold:

 

  • Foster Academics - First and foremost, to advance the quality of education through programs for students and teachers

  • Advance Arts initiatives

  • Advance Athletic programs and facilities

  • Support Campus and Community programs.

 

Through the support of this mission, the AHS Foundation believes the efforts will benefit the overall Alpharetta Community.

What is a Program?

A program is any idea that is generated from a constituent in or of the school that can generate a new experience or activity that advances any of the core initiatives of the Foundation and therefore, the school. The Foundation will work closely with the school administration particularly in the area of advancing education.  A program request should not be made for operating funds to support an existing school program, unless there is a program which cannot receive funds elsewhere.

Requirements for applying:

  1. A submission must come from a qualified school department/program or endorsed booster club by the school. While ideas may come from the general community, a sponsoring organization or department is required.

  2. Applicant must complete the application two weeks prior to a board meeting.

Project criteria:

  1. The project should clearly state how it advances the education or experience of students at AHS.

  2. If building in nature, all Fulton County School Board requirements have to be met prior to funds release; funds can be allocated for design work if a proper process is being followed with the school board.

  3. The project must have some sources of funds, no matter how small, from the requesting department.

  4. The ongoing operational maintenance of the project or program needs to be identified.

  5. Projects should be innovative, creative, and stimulating to the students and the staff.

  6. Projects should NOT be covered by existing funds.

  7. Projects must align with the goals in the school-based plan.

How much is available for each project?

Grant size is exclusively the purview of the AHS Foundation. Funding will be based the anticipated project’s broad impact on the school’s mission and the AHS Foundation charter’s support of that mission.

AHS Foundation contact & due dates

All applications must be submitted two weeks prior to an AHS Foundation Board Meeting.  It may take two or more meetings to evaluate the proposal.

GRANT REQUEST

Please provide a brief description of the project including objectives, needs addressed, benefits to students.

Please include the primary short and long term benefits and who the beneficiaries are/will be.

Describe how you will determine whether the project's objectives have been met at the completion.

Identify the request for the funds, identify the full financial picture for seed funding, provide other sources of funds, identify any ongoing financial requirements and how they will be fulfilled.

Identify any other departments/program that may benefit from this.
